Do you kids and your family like chocolate Milk ?? I know wen I was a kid it was a treat to have chocolate milk in our house .. As now I'm a mom of 3 amazing kids I try not to have so much of the processed food in our house .. I know its not like at times we don't have a processed food around or I don't cave and buy something at the store I should not get .. My kids are huge chocolate milk fan's and with prices of food and everything seeming to be going up I wanted to make a chocolate syrup that we could use in milk and taste better then what you could get in the store .. The 1st time that I did it the kids were like ah no it is not our chocolate syrup we get at the store .. So I went back to the drawing board and made a different batch using little different ingredients and it was a hit and the house smelled amazing .. I hope you will want to try to make this recipe for you or your kids and see what they think ..

INGREDIENTS:

3/4 cups of light brown sugar

3/4 cups of granulated sugar

1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder

1 pinch of salt

1 cup of cold water

1 table spoon of vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS:

1). In a saucepan you will want you would want to add a cup of cold water and the brown sugar , granulated sugar, cocoa powder and the pinch of salt to the pan . Whisk until all of these ingredients are well combine and their are no lumps at all

2). Heat the mixture on a medium to low heat until the mixture is at a boil and stir often . Turn the heat down to a low heat after the syrup was brought to a boil , Once the syrup is on a low heat let it cook until the syrup thickened and stir occasionally this should take about 5 mins .

3). after 5 mins remove the pan from the heat and add the vanilla and then stir that in .. Then take the syrup and put in a jar like a mason Jar and leave out on the counter until the syrup cools to room temp . After that is happen then you can put the lid on and put it in the fridge and it is good for about 2 months .. if your house is anything like mine it will not last that long ...

4). I use about a spoon full of the syrup with my cold glass of milk . If you are the type that you like more chocolate in your milk go for it and add more ...
